the Brothers
Bart Lowen

Bart was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, graduated college at Kansas State University in 1997 and moved with his wife to Kansas City where he put his degree to work. He is now in the commercial real estate business developing projects throughout the country. He strives for proper balance in his life, including his relationship with Christ, family, work, and of course waterfowl hunting.
While currently involved in Ducks Unlimited, Bart is also taking a very active roll with the Brothers pursuit to give youths and newcomers the opportunity to try waterfowl hunting. With three kids of his own, he knows the importance of outdoor opportunities, especially amongst the world we live in today.
Bart hunts in Kansas and Missouri, but also finds time to travel to other states as well, especially when the migration pattern pushes the birds out of his hunting spots. His passion for waterfowl doesn’t stop within himself. He continually brings his daughter on his afternoon duck hunts, can’t wait until his son can sit still long enough to join him and is in the midst of training the newest addition to the Brothers, Getting “Jett” Black.
Bart’s creative set and background has given him the ability to continue to come up with better ways to hunt waterfowl. In the off season you’ll find him working on ways to make next season’s hunts more promising. Most importantly Bart finds the greatness in the outdoors from what God has created. His goal is to give newcomers the opportunity to enjoy that atmosphere as well, and to let them know that there is much more to life than the here and now.
Patrick Brown

Patrick was born in North Kansas City, MO but grew up in Miami, Florida and San Antonio, TX. Patrick moved to Lenexa, KS in 1995 and now lives in Kansas City, MO with his wife, Hilary, and two children, Mallory and Simon. Patrick graduated from Friends University in 2002 with a business degree and now owns a real estate appraisal company. Patrick and his family are very active in their church where he is currently an elder and is involved with the men’s ministry.
Patrick grew up around hunting and shooting but never got involved with the hunting aspect until he was invited by his friend and hunting partner, Bart, to go on an early season Teal hunt. From the time the first group of Teal buzzed the decoy spread, Patrick was hooked. Patrick has been hunting waterfowl and upland birds since 2002. Most weekends during the season you will find him in the boat or in a field with the rest of the Duck Brothers. During the off season, when he is not working or spending time this his family, he is working on improving his duck and goose calling abilities, shooting at the range, and preparing for the coming season.
While he was not hunting from an early age, he was spending a lot of time in the outdoors either hiking, camping, or shooting cans with his Benjamin pellet rifle. The fond memories of those times and the more recent memories in the blind have given Patrick the motivation to share the outdoors with the younger generation as well as other men who have never had these experiences before. He has heard a lot of guys say they don’t hunt now because they did not grow up around it. Well, Patrick is proof that you don’t have to start at an early age to get involved and enjoy it. Patrick summed up why he is involved with the Duck Brothers in saying “I am completely missing the boat if I am not using the abilities God has given me and sharing what I am passionate about, whether it is hunting ducks and geese or God. I see being a part of Duck Brothers as the perfect opportunity to do both!”.
